It's a challenge for Australia to set fresh records.

The greatest achievements have already been conquered.

This is the team that has won seven Cricket World Cups, plus six more T20 titles, and once went nearly four years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, the ones sought by the achievement hunters, are all that remain for a team that has won it all.

That it took until Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to complete their first ODI chase over 300, taking back their record for the highest in the female 50-over format, is, in truth, a tribute to the pitchers that have sported the yellow jersey over the last half-century.

It is hard for their hitters to maintain a record if never given the opportunity.

Ultimately, the consequence of Australia allowing 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy getting a chance to produce her latest masterpiece.

Then best known as the 19-year-old niece of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after Australia didn't secure either of the T20 or ODI World Cups held the previous year and has witnessed all through 15 trophy-laden years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup arrived three months after her bow and seven global championships have come from 10 attempts across formats.

The gritty keeper was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final defeat by India briefly halted the run of success.

That loss "drove us to reevaluate our levels," Healy stated recently.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the championship match and was awarded tournament MVP. She made sure her country would not come up short.

If this recent magnificent innings topped that previous effort remains open for discussion.

Certain people claim the argument supporting the pressure of a final. Different voices suggest with the test that comes when confronting a historic chase and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What is certain is this century was much more difficult to see coming.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 occurred when she was the highest scorer, but this performance was preceded by six games in India over the past few weeks in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've observed me in the nets, it's been a disappointing period because I feel like I lacked timing completely," commented Healy.

"However when you enter the playing area, your competitive nature take over and you simply focus on the competition."

Healy's competitive nature has continuously been her great strength - and an irreplaceable characteristic in succeeding legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, fallen to the young fast bowler in each encounter, but here that only provided Healy's motivation.

One run resulted off the bowler's initial ball and from there Healy was on her way.

"The possibility to play and lock in a contest with her and just have a bit of fun that way, sort of got me going," said Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 balls - her swiftest at the global tournament - and her hundred in 84 deliveries while she flogged anything short, scoring 21 fours and three sixes.

By the time she was out the team required another 66 at one run per ball - an unconquered height now needing a comfortable finish.

"Pursuing 330 is unfamiliar ground so I'm pleased we have the belief to achieve that now," continued Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to repeat it but, if necessary, we are confident we can succeed."

That comment will be the final thing Australia's opponents at this championship want to hear.

During the last week a belief they will triumph from any situation has become more firm - this triumph following success over Pakistan by 107 runs despite sitting at 76-7 at one point.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a meeting with traditional opponents England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final berth may likely be confirmed.

It was in the semi-finals they were eliminated from the prior year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - an encounter Healy was absent due to torn tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the initial instance at a major tournament.

Such is her determination, she subsequently stated she wished she had played through the pain.

Yet even as she later admitted those physical issues have delayed thoughts of retirement, this tournament is expected to be her final tournament as skipper in 50-over cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a world championship as skipper.

Triumph in India would lead her to the peak of her last major obstacle.
