The British government is ready to advance with utilizing the total value of immobilized Russian funds to bolster Ukraine's war effort, PM Sir Keir Starmer has declared.

In a joint statement, the officials of the United Kingdom, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany asserted that this unified step would increase strain on Russia's leader Vladimir Putin and urge Moscow to participate in talks.

They clarified that the move would be carried out in close cooperation with the United States.

UK penalties have blocked more than £25bn of Russian assets since the Russian government initiated its comprehensive attack against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. Yet, up to this point, resources allocated to Ukraine using Russia's funds had only been sourced from earnings and returns generated on them.

Sir Keir assured Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky that the UK, the French Republic, and Germany were in agreement in their aim to drive progress toward utilizing the full value of the frozen Moscow's national funds to conclude the conflict.

He stated that further restrictions in the coming days and weeks would heighten the tension on Moscow.

This statement is subsequent to EU leaders met in Copenhagen last week to discuss employing frozen Russian assets for a 140-billion-euro credit to the Ukrainian nation.

Recently, American leader Donald Trump called on Group of Seven partners to seize or utilize frozen Russian holdings, according to media sources.

The total of seized Russian assets in the EU is estimated to be almost €211bn.

The Russian government executed extensive bombardments throughout Ukraine on that day, leading to electricity outages in significant regions of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv, and multiple additional areas.

Several persons were fatally injured and no fewer than 20 people were injured in the strike, authorities in Ukraine reported.

In a update on social media subsequent to the strike, Zelensky wrote that the premeditated assault focused on public and utility structures.

"What is required is not empty words but decisive action - from the US, Europe, and the seven nations - in providing air defence systems and applying penalties," he stated.

"All penalty impositions undermines Russia's war machine," Zelensky wrote, in a different message.

Also on Friday, Zelensky informed media outlets he would urge Sir Keir to join the weapons procurement programme, under which alliance members purchase military equipment from the America to give to Ukraine.

While commending the UK's strong support for Ukraine, he said it should send a clear signal that it would take part in the initiative, as well as impose further measures on Moscow.
