Ex- BBC Advisers Participate in Members of Parliament's Questioning In the Wake of Assertions of Prejudice in Unauthorized Memorandum
We open with questions from Conservative MP the committee chair, who oversees the committee.
She opens by providing background to the leaked memorandum authored by Michael Prescott and released in a daily publication.
"I do not desire the BBC slanting this way or that way, I just want it straight, unbiased and just," he states.
Upon being questioned whether he believes the British Broadcasting Corporation is systematically partial, the adviser replies: "No, I do not. It is important to note, a great deal the BBC does is exceptional - encompassing documentary and entertainment shows."
But he adds: "There is real work that must be undertaken at the British Broadcasting Corporation."
The second ex-adviser British Broadcasting Corporation consultant interviewed by the group, Caroline Daniel, remarks she takes the British Broadcasting Corporation extremely earnestly and that it has a "continuous process and vigorous discourse" regarding evolving and intricate issues.
"Whether the BBC was willing to conduct a proper conversation and argument and implement changes?" she questions. "As I see it, indeed, they were."
