Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight round fight which will be streamed live on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the two fighters came face-to-face to publicize next month's heavyweight fight.
Ex twice world boxing king Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami's arena on December 19th.
Boxer's Mentality
"I will break his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I'm going to seriously aim to hurt him. That's my intention."
Civil Interaction
In spite of those words, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - usually recognized for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.
Jake Paul instead criticized ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and called him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.
Targeting Fury
Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, targeted UK opponent Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] is better than Fury - he showed up," Joshua said.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Fighter
In spite of saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his opponent's fighting skills.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he stated.
Paul's History
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
Still, the inexperienced fighter remains one of boxing's largest money-making draws, consistently making massive financial rewards.
Prediction and Belief
The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in rounds four or five and asserted he would derail the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently under discussion for two years from now.
"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.
Physical Difference
As the two fighters engaged in the customary stare-down, with their height and weight contrast evident, it drove home just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the match is really going ahead.
