Iran Reports Strike on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, As Part of Regional Counterattacks.
Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed missile attacks throughout the Middle East in response for a large-scale and ongoing attack against it by the US and Israel.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an zone near the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any damage is uncertain and the US has remained silent.
Missile Defenses Activated
In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - which all house American military installations - reported they have shot down incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had intercepted a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the region.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the strikes on the Islamic Republic initiated by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.
That US-Israeli operation - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted locations linked to the Iranian leadership, with President Trump calling on the people of Iran to rise up against the government.

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israel Defense Forces said it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates stated that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses responded to the missiles with high efficiency and destroyed a number of missiles," the statement continued.
It said wreckage fell on a residential area in the capital, resulting in some structural damage and the death of one civilian.
The United States Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
