Jurgen Klopp states a return to manage Liverpool is plausible in theory.

Jurgen Klopp, who left Anfield in 2024, indicated that returning someday is an option. Klopp, after a transformative near-decade reign that included Champions League success and the Reds’ first league title in 30 years, now holds roles in a global football capacity for Red Bull and as an advisor with the German Football League.

Supporters’ Hopes and His Frank Comments

They secured the league title in the previous campaign, though countless followers holding him in high esteem would be thrilled by the possibility that he may eventually return. In a wide-ranging interview, he told his interviewer: “I said I will never coach another team in England. So that means should it be the Reds...yeah. It's plausible.”

“I’m 58, which suggests I might decide later on, who knows. Is a decision required immediately? Then I will not coach again. Fortunately, I don’t have to do that. I can just see what lies ahead.”

What Would Lure Him Back?

When asked about which situations would need to occur to bring him back to management, he revealed he was not instantly drawn toward coming back. “I don’t even know exactly, I enjoy my current role,” he said. “I don't crave being a coach; I avoid standing during downpours for lengthy sessions; I'm glad to skip interviews four times, three times a week or having 10-12 interviews a week.

“I don’t miss the dressing room in that context, but sitting in a restaurant with the team having a nice chat, that’s nice. With many victories so there was often a very good mood at the club. I still have Van Dijk's laughter in my ear to illustrate.”

Commending Arne Slot

Klopp was full of praise regarding Arne Slot, acknowledging his role for the tweaks which secured the championship in the previous season. Liverpool have lost four consecutive matches in all competitions after a summer spending spree, yet he dismissed the idea that it might signal a decline.

“[Liverpool have] a top-class attacker such as Wirtz, you will all eat your words if spoken against. A remarkable prospect. Ekitike, excellent performer. This is a well-built balanced team. You don’t have to worry over the club, they will be fine.”

Heartfelt Words for Diogo Jota

Klopp also spoke emotionally about the death of the Portuguese star, whom he brought in while in charge, along with the consequences at the club. The Portugal international died tragically in a car crash with his brother this past summer.

“Who can fill the void of somebody like Diogo? It goes beyond his footballing ability, it’s the guy he was. I struggle to conceive the dressing room without him in it. I find it difficult to discuss on this topic. It was an incredible shock for his teammates too. Not a single person will ever use it to justify results but it is the situation. Entering the changing area where he was omnipresent. Coping with it individually is challenging. Overwhelming.”
