Ukraine has announced the start of mass production for a new domestically developed defensive UAV to reinforce its air defences. The first three manufacturers have begun manufacturing, with an additional eleven preparing to establish production lines, the defence ministry stated this past Friday.

Advanced 'Octopus' System Proven in Battlefield Conditions

The drones will be based on a domestically developed technology known as “Octopus” engineered to intercept Shahed drones. This technology has been tested in combat and proved successful “at night, under jamming and flying low,” the ministry stated. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has set an ambitious goal of manufacturing up to 1,000 defensive drones daily.

Latest Attack on the Capital Characterized as Calculated

The Ukrainian president described Moscow's most recent assault on Ukraine as “intentional, premeditated and wicked” following six people lost their lives and dozens injured in a wave of night-time strikes throughout Kyiv. Russia plans to produce up to 120,000 glide bombs this year, a senior Ukrainian intelligence official disclosed, including 500 of an innovative, extended-range model that is capable of targeting additional urban centers. Moscow's military were firing 200 to 250 aerial bombs daily, with the previous month's average daily usage being about 170, according to official military statistics.

Kyiv's Strikes Focus on Moscow's Energy Infrastructure

Russia’s Black Sea port of Novorossiysk halted for a period oil exports this past Friday – equivalent to 2% of global supply – following a Ukrainian missile and drone attack. Military commanders in Kyiv said its military had fired domestically produced missiles and deployed multiple kinds of strike drones in the assault against Novorossiysk “as part of efforts to diminish the military and economic potential of the invading force.”

Ukraine additionally targeted an oil refinery in Russia’s Saratov region and a fuel storage facility in nearby Engels during the night.

International Restrictions Affect Russian Energy Company
